Our flight back home was scheduled in the evening, so we wanted to make use of our last few hours in Taiwan for some last-minute shopping. We decided to head back to Taipei 101 Mall, since we didn’t know of much places to shop in during the day time (as opposed to the many options of night markets in the evening).
Spotted yet another Final Fantasy x Louis Vuitton ad! ♥
And yet, another! ♥
Taipei 101’s Mall mostly consists of high-end stores, so I wouldn’t recommend it for those who are looking to go bargain shopping, like in the night markets. There are still a bunch of other popular clothing brands here like Cotton On, Zara, etc., so it’s still a pretty good place to go shopping in, if that’s what you’re looking for.
My favorite floor here was the top floor, mostly because of the layout and structural design. I found myself looking up at the ceiling often because of the skylight that reflected design elements of the Taipei 101’s skyscraper.
The support system of the skylight reminded me of a spine.
There’s also an open area with pocket shops for other high-end brands. I found it fascinating how they also seemed to have their own custom cafes for their brands.
I also liked the design of the bridge-like paths to the entrances of some high-end brands, such as Louis Vuitton. It’s a simple yet interesting touch that makes the top floor a bit more special (sorry, inner architect calling! haha).
We had dinner in the food court that’s close to the connection to the entrance to the Taipei 101 skyscraper. There are tons of variations of options of types of meals you can have their. I did seem to notice that Taipei has a strong Japanese influence, that’s why they seemed to have a lot of Japanese food options–there was even a conveyor belt sushi stall!
Our last meal in Taipei. :'(
After lunch, we headed to the the airport for our evening flight. It was a brief four-day trip, but I think we maximized our days well with all our activities. 😀
I’m truly grateful to have had such a special joint birthday celebration with my sister. My mom joining us just added to the fun of the company. ♥ I definitely think we gained a couple of pounds after visiting Taiwan, considering all the street food we tried in the night markets we visited. haha!
Aside from the food, Taiwan had tons of other great places to offer. We weren’t able to visit all of them, but hopefully we’ll be able to come back again to see even more of what Taiwan has to offer. ♥
